    I purchased a 'Outdoor Bark Control' Birdhouse from you in October 2010 and have been using it to stop our dogs problematic barking for 2 weeks. I'm writing to  give you some feedback (as i said i would) and it seems to be working great so far. The neighbours have said that they've hardly heard the dogs barking at all any more when we're not home, which is great news for us.     Q. What is the range for the Petsafe Outdoor Bark Control unit?
    A. The unit detects barking and sends the ultrasonic sound up to 15 meters

    Q. Can I use the outdoor bark control indoors?
    A. No, we do not recommend using the product indoors, but there are other ultrasonic products that can.

    Q. Can a dog become desensitised to the ultrasonic sound?
    A. There are some situations where dogs do become desensitised, to avoid this only turn the outdoor bark control on during periods of unwanted barking (ie. leave it off when you are away).

    Q. Can humans hear the ultrasonic sound?
    A. The ultrasonic sound cannot be heard by humans.  Occasionally the speaker may vibrate which can make a sound.

    How the Petsafe - Outdoor Bark Control works

    When the "Petsafe Outdoor Bark Control" is within range of a barking dog an internal microphone picks up the sound and the unit is automatically activated. The unit emits an ultrasonic sound. The ultrasonic sound can be heard by dogs but is silent to humans. Startled by the high-pitched sound  (that is completely safe) the dog/s should quite quickly associate the unpleasant sound with barking and stop.
